A typical day on the job:   Sorting and distributing mail, checking calendars for meetings, typing letters and correspondence, filing,
lunch and dinner reservations. I also prepare itineraries for visitors and arrange for travel for most of the department. Keep track of and pay invoices.

 

Positive things about being an administrative professional in this industry:  It is a fast paced and growing industry. The company treats their employees well.

 

Negative things about being an administrative professional in this industry:  Not enough recognition, or appreciation (in terms of respect for the position).

 

Type of workspace/office:  Cubicle

 

Primary responsibilities as an administrative professional in this position:  Support Supervisors and staff, taking care of mail and correspondence, checking and updating calendars, preparing travel itineraries and expense reports, ordering and serving lunches, setting up conferences and meetings and preparing and paying invoices. I am also responsible for a monthly travel summary and report.
