Whom Do You Respect at
Work and Why?
If you're
looking for a little more respect at work, these are great traits and
behaviors to strive for in the workplace. The more respect people give at
work, the more respect everyone will get in the workplace, simply because
more people are giving it.

Administrative professionals respect someone at work (regardless of
title) who exhibits these traits:
- Hard worker
- Concerned about quality of work
he/she delivers
- Cheerful personality (even in
stressful times)
- Sense of humor
- Kind and polite to others (even in
stressful times)
- Patience with others (even in
stressful times)
- Good manners
- Really listens to you
- Fair
- Sensitive to others feelings
- Earns respect, doesn't expect it
- Knowledgeable about their job
- No (or little) ego
- Communicates with confidence (knows
what he/she wants)
- Makes timely decisions
- Responds to information requests in
a timely manner
- Willing to help others
- Gives constructive feedback
- Direct communicator (straight
shooter even when dealing with difficult discussions and issues)
- Honest
- Makes an effort to be a team member
(whether successful at it or not)
- Confident in coworkers abilities
(knows they're experts at their jobs)
- Asks for input (not just one-sided
conversation)
- Doesn't interrupt others
- Voluntarily keeps coworkers informed
(about work related matters)
- Willing to ask for help when needed
(admits when she/he doesn't know something)
- "Not my job" is not part of their
vocabulary at work
- Positive attitude
- Strives to portray a calm demeanor
(even in stressful times)
- Appreciates others work
