a community college for two years for legal secretary, worked several
years for a law office, but switched from working in a law office to a
hospital.

Typical work hours: 40 hrs. per week –
generally 8:00-4:30, but changes due to programs we provide
Weekends or overtime hours: We cannot
have any overtime. I do rarely work on a Saturday if we have a program but
make another day shorter during the pay period so my time is still 40 hrs.
I work evenings about twice a month.
General salary range

A typical day on the job: Answer phone
calls, register people for classes and programs, set up for classes, send
room slip reservations, do mailings and update mailing lists, order office
supplies and class materials, system administrator for registrar program,
send reminder letters, keep track of and make deposits for programs, etc.

organization, flexibility, fun and interesting job as many of the programs
change frequently so job does not become boring.

professional in this industry: Juggling so many things at one
time for two different people, mailings can be tedious, volume of phone
calls on some days
