working for this company in the C/S department. In this roll I
demonstrated a strong organizational side and attention to detail, which
helped point out and correct many issues. This company never had an
"admin" before and asked if I could do it because I have had experience in
the position before.
Number of
managers and/or staff supported: Since I don't have an
"official" job description yet, I basically report to all managers (about
12 people), and assist others within the various departments.
Typical work hours: 8-4:30
Weekends or overtime hours: Yes, some
overtime (depending on department needs) and yes, paid overtime after 40 hours)

"typical". Since I report to several departments, every day is different
dependant on which department needs me more for the day. Since I have also
been cross-trained, I am also back-up to C/S and Credit & Collections.

I am also the receptionist, so it is all open.
Primary responsibilities as an administrative
professional in this position: Preparing the audit binder,
risk management/maintenance of agreements (lease, distributor, etc),
organizing corporate files (1st time this has been done for this
company!), maintain corporate vehicles, meeting and travel arrangement,
etc.

Flexibility, organization skills, and an easy-going temperament.

Fax, copier, printer, scanner, phones, computer…everything!
Technology (hard) skills used regularly:
Typing, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GroupWise, Internet.
Critical soft skills: Ability to "stop,
drop and roll" (stop and drop what you're doing to take on something more
critical, and roll with the punches. Why - because my functions change on
a daily basis. I never know who will be directing me from day-to-day, and
I have been directed to change or stop mid-stream. Also, good
communication skills in order to hand off projects when it's requested
that I switch priorities.
